We have some more opportunities to umpire in Phoenix this spring. Since our fields might still be under snow, it is a great chance for some baseball, sun and fun.

The guy who has given us games for other tournaments is inviting any and all of our crew to come down and work Triple Crown’s Arizona Spring Championships (youth tournament). There are two sessions available to work, but the second session is the one that he needs the most help with (around 200 teams). We also don’t have any games in our area during the second session.
If you decide you want to work one of the tournaments, please let Doug know as soon as possible.
Dates
- Session 1: March 7-10
- Session 2: March 14-17
Lodging
One of the great things is lodging is included for umpires. You will share a hotel room with another umpire (hopefully from our crew).
Pay
- 13s/14s = $46
- 12 and under = $44
- Note: it looks like all games are 1:45 Drop Dead
Games
- Thursday – You don’t have to work games on Thursday and use it as a travel day if you want. Otherwise, you might get some games, but it won’t be a full schedule on Thursday.
- Friday/Saturday – Plan for 4-6 games
- Sunday – Plan for 3-4 games

Spring Training Bonus
There is a break in the schedule on Friday March 8 from 12-5pm in order for people to go watch a spring training game. The assigner made it sound like that happened in both sessions, but I didn’t see it on the details for Session 2 so I don’t want to get anyones hopes up.
